Before the results come out, there is something you might want to get ahead on.
In order to get GMC registration as soon as your results are out, you might want to get this done as soon as possible.
Your medical registration needs to be EPIC verified.
It's not difficult to do, you can actually follow all the instructions that are on the GMC website.
We just wanted to specifically mention TO GET THIS DONE EARLY.
EPIC will contact your medical college for them to verify which may cause delays.
IT CAN TAKE OVER 4 WEEKS TO GET IT VERIFIED. Especially if your college doesn't do online verification. So you will need to keep calling up your college as well to follow up.
Side note- If you have done any USMLE steps, you would have done half of the process. Irrespective of if you've done USMLE or not, you will still need to get your documents signed by a notary which can take up to 2 weeks. so still get that done soon!!
Overall, the whole process of EPIC verification + Notary can take anywhere from 1 week to 6+ weeks. Since it takes 2-4 weeks for your PLAB 2 results to come out, better to start this the day after you finished PLAB once you've relaxed and slept in late (: Or else your GMC registration which can arrive 1-5 weeks after your PLAB 2 results will be delayed even further. The faster you get GMC registered the faster you can apply for jobs and start your UK dream! (:
You will also need to provide a Certificate of good standing from the Medical council which you are registered with in your home country. We are both registered with Tamil Nadu Medical council which required two conduct certificates to be submitted. THESE REQUIREMENTS MAY VARY FOR EACH STATE AND COUNTRY. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR MEDICAL COUNCIL!! It can take up to 4 weeks to get it (Atleast for us)! So get started on this soon as well:)
